Frequently Asked Questions
If I book multiple activities at the Bird Park, do I need to have a gap in between?
We recommend and request a minimum 45-minute gap between each activity. This ensures sufficient time to travel between departure points and allows for potential delays.
Are we allowed to take pictures while doing activities at the Park?
Yes, you can take pictures provided you are not putting yourself at risk. For Big Cats encounters, only designated photographers are allowed to take pictures to ensure the safety of visitors, staff, and animals.
Do we have to book the entrance ticket while booking any activity at the Park?
Yes, unless stated otherwise.
Are the Lions being drugged during the activity Walk with Lions?
Please note that at Casela Nature Parks, ensuring the well-being of animals has always been a top priority and the practice of drugging animals for any purpose, including in tourist attractions like "Walk with Lions," is both unethical and illegal in Mauritius. Regarding Casela Nature Parks in Mauritius specifically, it's crucial to ensure that any activities involving interaction with animals are conducted ethically and in accordance with animal welfare standards.
How much time is required to visit the park?
The duration of the Visit To Casela Nature Parks is around 3 hours. In case you’ve booked additional activities at the park, then the duration of the entire visit will be longer.
Do we need prior booking for the activities at Casela Nature Parks?
Yes, for certain activities. Please refer to the table under the “Comments & Notes” section for more details.
Is the park pushchair/wheelchair friendly?
Not all areas of the park are accessible to wheelchairs due to the natural terrain of Casela Nature Parks. However, the staff across the park are always happy to lend a helping hand, where possible.
What is the last admittance time to the park?
The park closes at 5pm; however, to fully enjoy the park and activities, we recommend that visitors arrive at 9am or at the latest before noon. Feeding of animals stops at 3.30pm, and restaurants close at 4pm.
Can we touch the animals or take close-up photos with them?
For security reasons, visitors are encouraged to keep a reasonable safety distance from the animals. You are free to take photos of the animals without putting yourself at risk. During Big Cats encounters, only photographers can take pictures for the safety of visitors, employees, and animals.
