Santosha Mindful Wellness
From luxurious facials, massages and scrubs to invigorating yoga classes and a broad array of dynamic and fun exercise programmes, all is available at the Santosha Spa. We tend to believe that happiness is something outside of ourselves. And so we’re always chasing it. The thing about being happy is, it’s a practice, not something that happens to you.
So Tamassa Resort imagined a spa that would give you the power to be your happiest. Because it is by reconnecting with yourself that you can connect with others. They named the spa Santosha– from the Sanskrit sam, meaning “completely” and tosha, meaning “contentment” or “acceptance”. Santosha is both an attitude and a deep state of inner peace. Santosha Spa helps you cultivate that attitude and peace of mind.

Tamassa hotel Hotel Reviews
1 | Ozer Liked: We had a fabulous stay with my wife at Tamassa for 3 days which made us want to stay for much longer. Our expectation was exceeded in every way. Can't say enough about the staff, every one of them was amazing. The rooms are cosy and comfortable, facilities were also great and the location is ideal. We absolutely loved it and would love to come back. |
2 | Mystique We loved how warm and welcoming the entire resort was, from the staff, food to the location/structure. It was all so as relaxing as you would want. Gianny the manager and all the receptionists that attended to us was just lovely. The water sports guys were fantastic, and Emilio kept our glasses steadily full. Mauritius in general seemed like a harmonious beautiful blend of people and culture. Just like how the world should be. Disliked: There was nothing we didnt like. We just wished the entertainment was more fun. |
3 | Chandni Liked: 1)we had the beach room right in front of the beach...so the view was just amazing! 2)the best part were the swimming pools that ensured no over crowding & all pools were kid friendly too... 3) the restaurant offered a great display and variety of eats catering to the needs of all ages..the staff and chefs were very cordial and helpful in making the guests comfortable especially by taking regular feedback about the food in case anyone had any specific requests.. also thoroughly relished and enjoyed the various beverages (cocktails & mocktails ).. 4) the Lux Me spa was the icing on the cake...had an amazing spa session ..the therapist were so good with the massages and explained everything in detail... 5) the water sports activities were awesome... Disliked: our check in was not very smooth but it was probably because of one inexperienced staff who by mistake gave us a deluxe room when we had actually booked a beach room..as a result after a while we had to approach the reception to correct their mistake and that caused us a little inconvenience.. but the resort graciously accepted the mistake and gave us our beach room.. |
4 | Michael Liked: For an all-inclusive hotel, very good and above all varied food! Nice but not too intrusive staff. Spacious, nice and clean rooms (all rooms with a slight sea view!) Disliked: In the room poor wifi. Not enough seating at lunch at the main pool. |
5 | Matthijs Beautiful rooms directly at the pool (standard room), beautiful beach. Breakfast buffet very good and also dinner at Show restaurant very varied and good. The a la carte restaurant also good, but there often very busy so staff had to run fast and sometimes forgot things (main course was already reserved while the starter had not been). Disliked: The diving centre does not offer much in terms of diving sites. The current was often too strong so it was only possible to dive close on the reef. There are no boat trips to other dive sites, so this was a little too limited. I wouldn't go to this location if I were diving. For beach cots you had to come up or look very early, because many guests put towels on them when they only sit a few hours later. More beds might help. |
Location
Set on Mauritius’ wilder, on the southern coastline, Bel Ombre is the perfect destination for nature-loving travellers who prefer unspoilt beauty to shops, restaurants and bars. Beaches at Bel Ombre are some of the most picturesque on the whole island, and the backdrop of Le Morne Brabant lends a touch of drama to an idyllic peninsula.
Attractions and activities in the area around Bel Ombre are wonderfully varied, so there really is something for everyone, including windsurfing, surfing and kite surfing in Le Morne, horse riding along the beach, hiking up to the top of Le Morne Brabant, interesting tours of tea and sugar estates, and an animal park which has loads to keep kids of all ages entertained.
To the west of Bel Ombre, the Le Morne Peninsula is where you’ll find the most photogenic and preserved stretch of coast on the entire island, with luxury resorts spread out in idyllic stretches of white sand under Le Morne Brabant, a looming green mountain. You’ll find your mecca if you’re into water sports: this is one of the best areas in Mauritius for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Beginners should make a beeline to the Kite Lagoon, on the western side of the peninsula, which is a great place to start off with calm, flat water. Le Morne is also home to One Eye, which is regarded as the top surf spot on the island, it’s only for experienced surfers though, beginners should stick to Kite Lagoon.
