Spend a fascinating time at Odysseo, the largest oceanarium of the Mascarene Islands. Get ready to be amazed at the different species you will find in their natural habitat. A real treat for animal and sea lovers. For those who love marine biology and biodiversity, this is the best place to visit.

The newly built oceanarium is located in the capital of the island, in Port Louis - close to the harbour, which all will make you feel blended into the Ocean theme! Once you reach the oceanarium, prepare to face the cutest little fish which will remind you of Nemo to big scary sharks!

This package offers you 2 options and both include your entrance fee to the oceanarium and access to the park 

Should you wish to learn more about the amazing ocean surrounding us and its great underwater life, you can opt for option 2 which includes a guided visit of the whole park. This will be an opportunity to ask questions you might have about the deep blue sea and its creatures. You can take a break from your visit anytime to grab a light bite at the food-garden and visit the Gift Shop to get yourself some souvenirs to remember this day by.

The lagoon

Jump off the boat and immerse yourself in the heart of the Mauritian territory: the lagoon, its calm waters and surprisingly rich biodiversity. Discover the life of this unique ecosystem with its beaches, brightly multi-coloured fish, seagrass beds, mangroves and coral reefs.

Inland forests

After the lagoon, it is now time for a small excursion inland. There, just like in the entire oceanarium, you will discover species in their habitat. Explore the lakes, rivers and forests, and say hi to their diverse freshwater, insect and reptile inhabitants.

The coral reefs

As you leave the inland forest, dive into the majestic blue waters of the Indian Ocean to discover the coral reefs. This lively and fragile ecosystem will reveal its best kept secrets and astonishing biodiversity.

Open sea

Ready for a fully immersive experience? Stingrays, sharks, eels and a multitude of fish will swim alongside you when you pass through the tunnel. A real underwater trip without a scuba mask or tank.

The invertebrates

Sub oceanic view

About Odysseo - The Oceanarium of Mauritius

Odysseo is the first oceanarium in Mauritius.

With its 5500 m2 of visiting domains, the oceanarium will showcase some 45 different aquatic habitats comfortably hosted in 2000m3 of pristine water. Visitors will encounter some 200 species (3,500 specimens at the opening) of the Indian Ocean.

With Odysseo, the Mascarene region is ready to welcome its largest oceanarium ever and also the first of its kind in Mauritius!

After your Visit, you can visit the gift store where you can purchase stuffed animals, t-shirts, books, educational games about the marine environment, goodies, jewellery, etc. to take home.

Dining at Odysseo - The Oceanarium of Mauritius

A food-garden, accessible exclusively to visitors of the oceanarium, is located outside the main building and stands about halfway on the visitors’ path across the oceanarium. Ideal for those who want a quick bite with quick service and 80 seats, the food area is the perfect spot to take a small break.

• Children 0 - 3 years enter free.
• Minimum 4 pax required for Option 2 - Guided Tour; maximum number of participants is 20 pax.
• For Option 2, booking must be done 48 hours prior to the visit.
• Your visit will begin at your selected time. Arriving late will limit your time at the oceanarium.
