Get into the heart of nature while you experience both the extreme opposites of lush greenery together with adrenaline rush activities like zip lining, suspended Nepalese bridge or quad biking. While in the parks, listen to the rustling trees, chirping of the tropical birds, and contemplate on the wild beauty of nature.

One of the most significant assets of Mauritius is its biodiversity. By taking a trail trak or a hiking trip in one of the nature reserves, you will get to witness the endemic flora and fauna of the island as well as some mesmerizing views.

Over the years, many national parks have been proclaimed with a mission to preserve the endangered wildlife and plant species on the island. These parks have since then served as incubators for the critically threatened species, providing them with a natural breeding ground, safe from human exploitation and invasive species. The populations of several species have thus been steady and have shown an encouraging growth in numbers.

As times, the heat will elevate and thus it is recommended to take a sun hat or cap and water with you. It is also important that you are well-equipped with sunscreen, mosquito repellent creams and good trekking shoes due to the uneven tracks.

Here’s a list made by our true experts, all locals, nature lovers and park enthusiasts who are here to share their knowledge with you.
